What Is Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir

noun bou·doir | \ ˈbü-ˌdwär \

: a woman's dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room.

The most basic definition I could think of for boudoir photography is taking beautiful pictures of a woman in an intimate setting. But boudoir photography is SO much more than that. It is not just about the photographs … It is about the transformative EXPERIENCE these women go through. It is about giving permission to themselves to let go and see themselves in a new light. It is about gaining self-love and self-confidence in this vulnerable state.

Boudoir photography accepts every woman on this planet, allowing them to feel beautiful no matter what size, race, or age. There is no such thing as perfection. So many women today are told that they have to look a certain way to be beautiful. The whole point of boudoir photography is disregard those claims and to embrace each individual woman as their own unique self, empowering them with each photograph taken.

With boudoir photography, women can wear anything. It ranges from wearing a cute sweater with stockings all the way up to nudity. It does not have to be lingerie. It is whatever the woman feels the most confident in! Every woman is different so you have to choose an outfit that works for you!

Boudoir photography is about telling each’s own story. It shows each woman what obstacles and struggles she has overcome throughout the years. It shows the real, raw her with each photograph taken. Boudoir photography is a celebration.

Are you ready to uncover the beautiful you?
